Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Proportional Braking System on a 2018 Ford Edge. There's five main components when flat towing your vehicle. First one on the vehicle side is gonna be the base plate and the base plate attaches to the frame of the vehicle and creates a solid attachment point for your towbar to connect to. And our towbar being the connection point between the base plate and the hitch on the RV is how your vehicle actually goes down the road. Now with that, in case of an accidental disconnect, you are gonna have some safety cables that attach to your safety chain loops here that run from the hitch to the base plate. more

Before we get into that though why don't we just take a minute, check this out and see why it's a good idea to use one of these. The whole point of a brake light relay is allow all your lighting functions to operate correctly. And with these trucks, if you don't use a brake light relay, let's say if you're at a stop sign, making a left turn, without a brake light relay, the motor home's brake signal would override the turn signal. So for example, you would have the motor home as it is with the brake light on the right, left turn signal flashing. more

So if you have a 2020 or newer Tiffen motorhome with factory installed air brakes, your motorhome already has the capability of supplying air pressure for a flat towed vehicle. So this kit is going to install on your vehicle. It's going to allow it to receive that air pressure from your motorhome so that it can apply the brakes as it's being flat towed. This is just part of the full Demco Co Air Force One kit but because you already have the components on your RV, you don't need to pay for the full kit. more

Now there's five main components required for flat towing a vehicle, and the first one's gonna be on the vehicle side and that's gonna be your base plate and that's gonna create a solid attachment point to the frame of the vehicle that allows you to hook up to your tow bar. And the tow bar is gonna be the connection between the base plate on the towed vehicle and the hitch on the RV. You also have your safety cable, so just in case of an accidental disconnect you still have an attachment point from your baseplate to the hitch on the RV. You also have your braking system which will allow you to slow and stop at the same time that your RV goes. And also you have a breakaway cable. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Roadmaster Invisibrake, Braking System on a 2019 Ford Fusion. In plateauing your vehicle, there's gonna be five main components that are gonna be required. The first one on the vehicle side is gonna be the base plate, and that attaches to the frame of the vehicle creating a solid mounting point to attach to your tow bar. That's gonna be your second component which is gonna be your connection point between the base plate and the hitch on the RV. Now your baseplate will have loops for your safety chain loops, which is gonna be your next component. Roadmaster InvisiBrake Braking System Installation - 2022 Chevrolet Spark- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look at installing the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System on a 2022 Chevrolet Spark. Now your braking system is gonna allow the vehicle to slow and stop as the RV goes down the road, but also you're gonna have a breakaway switch here. And that way if the car does become detached from all of your towbar and safety cables, it's gonna pull our cable and that's gonna allow those brakes to apply on the vehicle and then bring it to a stop. Now the InvisiBrake is pretty nice because your box will be mounted inside allowing you to adjust the pressure on the cylinder, and the rest of the cylinder lives up to the name InvisiBrake. So it actually hides kind of in the floorboard and it does make for a little bit trickier of an install, but overall it looks really cleaned once it's installed. more

Now, a supplemental braking system works on your flat towed vehicle by allowing the brakes to be applied on the vehicle, and in case of an accidental disconnect, they'll pull your breakaway switch, putting the brakes on the vehicle and that way it's not rolling down the highway. Now, all of this ties into your diode wiring which is then hooked up to your RV. So, when those brakes are applied, it's gonna do the same on the vehicle. This is gonna be a very easy way to get your vehicle set up to be flat towed. Of course, a braking system is only one of the components that you're gonna need to flat tow your vehicle, but, comparing this to permanently installed breaking systems, this is gonna be much easier to get installed and it's going to provide some other benefits as well that we'll go over here in a moment. So, to get this installed, or set up in your vehicle, we'll just take the actuator box here, sit it on the floor in front of your driver's seat, the adjustable feet on the bottom will accommodate your uneven floorboards, so you can get that all leveled out. The back of the unit can also be raised or lowered so that the unit can sit snugly against the front of your driver's seat to provide the support it needs, and then just tighten down in place, whenever you get it where it needs to be. more

Demco's Coachlink will take your braking system to the next level by giving you a wireless receiver inside of your motorhome that's gonna give you real-time feedback of when the brake pedal is being applied from your braking system. With the traditional Demco-style braking systems, you do get a monitor light included that will go on the back side of your mirror on the dash so that way you can see it in your rear view camera. But depending on your motorhome, you might not have a camera at the top or where your camera's pointed for backing up, it just may not be suitable for where the monitor light's located, and maybe the monitor that you have just isn't the clearest monitor. So you may still have to be aimed right at it, just really can't tell that it's coming on. more

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Roadmaster BrakeMaster Proportional Braking System for RVs with air brakes or air over hydraulic brakes. Now, this supplemental braking system will apply your towed vehicle's brakes in proportion to the braking action of your RV. Basically, the towed car's brakes are activated at the same time and with the same intensity as those in your motorhome. It is a truly proportional system, so it does use the air pressure from your RV's brakes to apply the brake pedal in your car. It does connect to the RV's air or the air over hydraulic brakes to sense when and how those brakes are applied, and it does ensure synchronize, reliable braking. more

So, a supplemental braking system is just gonna be one of the many things that you need in order to successfully flat tow your Jeep. Now, it is a legal requirement in nearly every state. And what the braking system is going to do is it's gonna be applying the brakes in our vehicle with the braking in our motorhome. That way, it can help us come to a much more safe and effective stop. Now, depending on the size of your motorhome and the size of your vehicle here, it can actually have a considerable effect on the motorhome's brakes because they're gonna be pushing you, especially if you do a lot of driving in the mountains. more

Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System Installation - 2022 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Demco stay-in-play supplemental braking system, on a 2022 Jeep Cherokee. Now this is available in two different options. You can get the wired version, which gives you an LED indicator light that goes on the towed vehicle and that way you can tell when it's braking, but you can also pick it up with the wireless coach link. And that way you have a monitor system that you can mount on the dash of your RV, and be able to see it, and also hear it with its alarm when you're actually braking and your vehicle's braking. Hi there Buick owners. Today our 2021 Buick Encore GX, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Invisibrake Supplemental Breaking System. And the main purpose of our supplemental breaking system is to apply the brake pedal here in our vehicle when we hit the brakes on our motor home. There's a clamp attached around our pedal here that comes in your kit, just clamp it around. And there's a pulley on the floor that goes to a cylinder that pulls the cable. With the Invisibrake system, what makes it kind of stand out against the other competitors, such as Demco systems, which are similar, but they have a much larger footprint when installed. more

And this is what our breaking system looks like when it's installed. This is a permanently mounted braking system that will stay on your vehicle, whether or not you're flat towing or you're driving it around town. This system operates off of the air pressure from the air brakes on your motorhome, so when you're driving around town not hooked up, it will never be able to activate for you, so it's a nice safe system. And it is a truly proportional system because the harder you hit your brakes in the motorhome, the more pressure it's gonna send back to this system and apply the brakes here harder. more

Roadmaster InvisiBrake Braking System Installation - 2021 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster InvisiBrake proportional braking system for a flat tow setup on a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The InvisiBrake gets its name from the fact that a lot of it can be hidden once it's installed, and that's accomplished by actually mounting the module box that creates that vacuum underneath the seat. And this should give you plenty of clearance to where it's not gonna cause any issues. It's then run to a cylinder, which runs to a cable and pulley system, which will slow and stop the vehicle when brakes are applied or when your breakaway switch is pulled. more

Now, this supplemental braking system is going to be required in all 50 states for flat towing a vehicle, and that's pretty much because it becomes the trailer brakes on the vehicle. So when your RV is actually sending the brake signal for your vehicle behind to slow down, it will apply the brakes. Also, with that, it has a breakaway switch. more
